The West Virginia Public Employees Insurance Agency would like to cordially invite you to apply to our worksite health promotion program, Pathways to Wellness. By filling out the enrollment application and providing an administrative letter of support, your employees can receive a number of free services designed to promote healthy lifestyles and the prevention of chronic diseases.
Services offered include:
Health Screens and Health Risk Appraisal to screen for:
- heart disease
- hypertension
- diabetes
- osteoporosis
- colon cancer
Mini Grants
Up to $1,000 per site for the promotion of healthy behaviors at the worksite
Healthy Campaigns
Look for new campaigns designed to raise awareness and educate the population about the benefits of exercise, nutrition and preventive care.
Stepping Stones Pedometers
Walking 10,000 steps a day is a proven method for reducing the incidence of heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis and colon cancer. Pedometers, or step counters, that you wear at your waistline, help motivate members to walk the recommended daily amount. The Pathways Program offers pedometers as part of a structured program.
Chug-a-Jug Water Bottles
The message of this simple program is to increase water consumption while reducing the intake of soda and other sweetened drinks. It has proven to be one of our most popular programs with surprisingly good results in the area of weight loss. The Pathways Program offers Nalgene water bottles as part of a structured program.
Health Incentive Programs
Pathways offers participants in our health screens a variety of incentives including educational materials. All materials relate to Pathways activities and promote healthy behaviors.
