Who sponsors the Pathways to Wellness Program?

The Pathways to Wellness program is sponsored by the PEIA (Public Employee Insurance Agency).

What are the guidelines for the program?

  1. Submit application and letter of support
  2. Schedule an initial meeting with your Health Promotion Consultant (HPC)
  3. At initial meeting, schedule health screen
  4. Conduct health screen
  5. Receive executive summary report and develop annual plan
  6. Begin programming

What are the benefits to my organization?

Studies have shown workplace wellness programs significantly improve long-term health, reduce absenteeism and health care costs, minimize job-related accidents and improve employee morale. Participation in the Pathways to Wellness program could make your worksite a healthier and more productive environment providing a great benefit to your employees.

What does participation in the program mean?

Employees at your worksite will be eligible to take advantage of awareness, education and behavior change programs ranging from health screenings to physical activity programs and even individualized health risk intervention programs. You and the employees of your worksite will determine which path you will embark on with the guidance of your Health Promotion Consultant (HPC). Please see the attached Worksite and Senior Management Criteria worksites must meet. Your Health Promotion Consultant (HPC) will also provide you with a list of products and services your worksite will be eligible to receive as well help you develop a business plan for your wellness program.

How is the program implemented and what kind of guidance will I receive?

A Health Promotion Consultant (HPC) will work directly with a volunteer worksite coordinator in implementing your on-site program. The Health Promotion Consultant (HPC) will provide the guidance, materials and support needed to assist you in implementing this program and the necessary tools to meet the needs and interests of your specific worksite.

Who will be the Worksite Coordinator? What are the responsibilities of this person?

The Health Promotion Consultant (HPC) will work with the Administrator of the organization to determine the best person to represent your site. Review the Worksite Coordinator Criteria.

How do I apply?

  1. Read through the enclosed packet of information.
  2. Complete the application.
  3. Attach a letter of support from your administrator. This letter should demonstrate an understanding and commitment of the administration for this program.
  4. Mail letter of support and application.

Who is Partners in Corporate Health, Inc. (PCH)?

PCH is the company that has been contracted to implement the Pathways program for PEIA. PCH is a small West Virginia business providing health promotion programs and services to corporations for over 18 years.

How will I be notified and when?

The Central Administration office and PEIA will be reviewing the applications to determine expansion of the Pathways to Wellness program. Your Health Promotion Consultant (HPC) will follow-up with you once your worksite has been accepted into the Pathways program.
