A Success Story
The Lincoln County Board of Education Central Office location started the Stepping Stones Program on March 18, 2007 with 38 participants. I held a healthy lunch provided by Subway and issued the pedometers and explained the program. Out of the 38 participants 14 were bus drivers. This was a big inspiration on the rest of the employees seeing the drives at lunch walk around the track. Several drivers lost weight and were very motivated by the Stepping Stones Program. To complete the program I held another healthy lunch on May 29, 2007 and prizes were awarded. I had three employees that were the top walkers with 575 miles, 563 miles, and 555 miles. All three were awarded a DVD player. I placed a chart out in the main hallway and recorded the miles walked each week. Employees rushed to the chart on Mondays to see who had walked the most miles. I thought the Stepping Stones Program was a great program and I am looking forward to starting a new program this fall.
